At the Phoenician, A Luxury Collection Resort, I found a beautiful oasis that started promisingly but unfortunately descended into a rather unsettling experience. The hotel itself is stunning, nestled in the heart of Camelback East with breathtaking views, perfect for hiking enthusiasts like myself who enjoy nature and culture alike. I was particularly taken with the expansive pool setting, which provided ample space to unwind with friends over delicious drinks — a highlight being the refreshing guacamole. My pleasure was dampened by a rather alarming emergency drill that lacked adequate communication. I genuinely felt unsafe, mistakenly believing there was a serious threat. The management's lackadaisical response to my concerns left a sour note that marred my stay. What should have been a peaceful escape quickly turned into a search for a more hospitable environment, leading me to check out earlier than planned. The room was impeccably clean and featured a comfortable bed, accompanied by a well-stocked mini-bar. I appreciated the attentive staff, as they were on point when I accidentally left my daughter’s iPad by the pool, tracking it down with impressive speed. That level of care is something worth acknowledging amid the noise. Ultimately, while there were enticing features and diligent service, the overshadowing lack of communication led me to opt for the Fairmont Princess instead, where my needs were better understood and valued.
